Fishing is available at various locations, about a 15-minute drive away, with the appropriate permit and a locally purchased ticket. And for a refreshing dip, two beautiful swimming lakes are just about 20 minutes away by car.

The heated glamping pods 'Dachsbau' (Badger's Den) and 'Fuchsbau' (Fox's Den), each accommodating up to 2 guests, are set in a secluded part of the Alte Schule garden, surrounded by lush trees and bushes. The Alte Schule enjoys a peaceful, isolated location outside the village. Clear skies offer breathtaking views of the starry night sky. The pods share a camp-style kitchen located in the garage (approx. 20 m away) as well as a shower and toilet in the main house (approx. 60 m away). The garden sauna and BBQ area are located in another part of the grounds. Come find your favorite spot!
Wonderful cycling and hiking trails await you in the surrounding area, and a tranquil National Park is just a stone's throw away. By the way, out here where nature is truly at your doorstep, it's not just the fox and badger saying goodnight—you might also encounter hares, roe deer, pheasants, wildcats, and bats! In the garage, you will find a camp kitchen equipped with a refrigerator, induction hot plate, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, and toaster. Crockery, glasses, mugs, cutlery, pots, and pans, as well as coffee, tea, and basic spices, are also provided.
Each heated POD includes a table. Depending on the weather, additional tables can be found in the garage or in the garden near the PODs. More tables are available by the barbecue area and sauna. In the garden, you will find both open-air seating and a covered seating area. The shower and toilet are located in the main house. There is also an additional outdoor shower by the sauna (available as long as temperatures are above freezing). Wi-Fi is available at the main house, and you should also have mobile data reception in the PODs. The bed in the POD (140 x 200 cm) is always prepared with a fitted sheet. Pillows and duvets are provided. You can either bring your own pillowcases, duvet covers, bath towels, and sauna towels, or book them as an extra (€15.00 per person). You are also welcome to bring and use your own sleeping bag.

Just 3 km away, the neighboring village offers a variety of supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants, and a wonderful café.

Immediately surrounding the PODs, you'll discover meadows and fields that seamlessly transition into enchanting forests. Fantastic hiking trails beckon you to explore! It's just 5 km to the 'Nahe', the largest river in our area, and about 20 km to two beautiful lakes perfect for swimming in the summer. Nothing stands in the way of wonderful excursions into nature here... whether on foot, by bike, car, or public transport, almost anything is possible!

POD 'Fuchsbau'

On the Erbeskopf, the highest mountain in Rhineland-Palatinate, downhill and cross-country skiing are available whenever weather conditions permit. When there is enough snow, you can go sledding right by the Alte Schule. The sauna is at least as wonderful in winter as it is in summer, and a winter barbecue is an experience not to be missed.
