Fishing is available at various locations, roughly 15 minutes away by car, with the appropriate permit and a locally purchased ticket. And for a refreshing dip, two beautiful swimming lakes are just about 20 minutes away by car.

The heated 'Dachsbau' (Badger's Den) and 'Fuchsbau' (Fox's Den) PODs, each accommodating up to 2 guests, are nestled in a private section of the 'Alte Schule' garden, surrounded by lush trees and shrubs. The Alte Schule is located in a secluded spot outside the village, offering a peaceful retreat. On clear nights, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the starry sky. The pods share a camping kitchen located in the garage (approx. 20m away) and a shower and toilet in the main house (approx. 60m away). The garden sauna and BBQ area are located in another part of the grounds—come and find your favorite spot! You'll find fantastic cycling and hiking trails in the immediate area and beyond, with a tranquil National Park just a short distance away. Here, it’s not just the fox and badger saying goodnight; you might also spot hares, deer, pheasants, wildcats, and bats! We can't wait to hear which ones you discover!

In the garage, you'll find a camping kitchen fully equipped with a fridge, induction hob, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, and toaster. Crockery, glasses, mugs, and cutlery, as well as pots, pans, coffee, tea, and a selection of spices, are also provided. Inside the heated PODs, there is a table for your convenience. Depending on the weather, additional tables can be found in the garage or in the garden near the PODs, with further seating available at the BBQ area and sauna. The garden offers both open-air seating and a covered area. The shower and toilet are located in the main house. There is also an additional outdoor shower by the sauna (available as long as temperatures remain above freezing). Wi-Fi is accessible at the main house, and you should also have mobile data reception inside the pods. The bed in the POD (140 x 200 cm) always comes with a fitted sheet. Pillows and duvets are provided. You are welcome to bring your own pillowcases, duvet covers, and towels (bath and sauna), or you can book them as an extra for €15.00 per person. Alternatively, you can use your own sleeping bag.

POD 'Dachsbau'

On the Erbeskopf, the highest peak in Rhineland-Palatinate, you can enjoy downhill and cross-country skiing when weather conditions permit. When there is enough snow, you can go sledding right by the 'Alte Schule'. The sauna is every bit as wonderful in winter as it is in summer, and a 'winter barbecue' is an experience not to be missed.

We had a great time at Tom's place. The pod was very cozy and comfortable, and the garage kitchen had everything we needed. Overall, a definite recommendation! :-)
