Herzen Farm - Paradies im Ahrtal

Despite a slightly bumpy start with the booking, we were ultimately very glad to have chosen this pitch! At first very unassuming, Mareike's garden turned out to be a small, green, and natural oasis. There is a small spot for a van, and otherwise the site is ideal for camping once you've found a flat spot or two! 🏕️

Great location, good communication, nice fire pit

Herzen Farm was without a doubt the most beautiful place we stayed at during our 5-day bike tour. Unfortunately, it is located quite high up, so the way there was definitely exhausting – but totally worth it. The place is secluded, quiet, and above all, lush and green. The facilities ("chill lounge", toilet, fire pit) blend nicely into the surroundings. Unfortunately, there are no chickens on site at the moment, but Mareike made sure to point this out before booking. Overall, communication with the hosts was very pleasant, so I can easily recommend this spot. Large groups should be careful, though. We pitched our 2-person tent in the lower area and had to experiment a bit to find a spot and orientation where no roots were sticking out of the ground that could damage the tent floor. In our case, it was quite doable, but it could be tricky with a large tent.

Mareike is a really lovely contact, and communication was quick and smooth. The place is truly great... Just the thing for real nature lovers who also don't mind crowing with the roosters at 4 in the morning. We really enjoyed our spontaneous stay and would happily come back. Thanks and warm regards

Close to nature, rustic, everything essential is there if you bring your own fresh water. Communication works great and Mareike is very friendly. If you're looking for peace and quiet and enjoy sitting by a campfire, this is just the right place.
