For those who don't mind a short drive to the lake, you can, of course, enjoy everything in and around the water here – swimming, fishing, SUP, surfing, sailing, motorboating, ...

Villa da Lida is nestled in a spacious meadow (1170 m above sea level) within a small, mostly uninhabited settlement on the northern shores of Lake Como. It boasts breathtaking views of both the lake and the surrounding mountains. Please note, the villa is only accessible on foot (two options: a 50-minute walk or a 1.5-hour hike).

Kitchen-Living Area:
Gas stove, oven, fireplace, table and chairs, sofa + sofa bed, dishes, pots, pans, and an Italian Moka pot – everything you need should be right there.

Bedroom:
1 double bed + 1 single bed
!Bed linen is provided – no need to bring your own!

- Trobolo composting toilet and shower area on the ground floor
- Water is available outside at the well in front of the cabin

Winter bookings are subject to availability and weather conditions. Should access to the parking spaces or the cabin itself be impossible due to heavy snow and/or ice, the cabin will not be rented out, and I would unfortunately have to cancel your booking. This cabin offers 'harmony with nature' for the advanced adventurer (literally! 😊):

‼️ Accessible only on foot: it is an 1,100-meter ascent (from 600m to 1,700m) taking approximately 3.5 to 4 hours. 
If you prefer not to drive the 3.5 km gravel road to the parking area, please add another 45–60 minutes of walking time.

The trail to the cabin includes steep and narrow sections, though no exposed ledges. Hiking boots are required. Everything you find here was either carried up on someone's back or flown in by helicopter (€40 per minute plus flight time).

The cabin is situated with three others on a small plateau, offering views of the surrounding mountains and a glimpse of Lake Como.

Three mountain lakes are within a few hours' reach:
Lago di Ledú – approx. 2 hours away according to Komoot (overnight stays in the bivouac possible).
Lago di Cavrig – 1 hour 40 mins (according to Komoot).
And Lago di Darengo – a good 3 hours away (overnight stays at Rifugio Capanna Como possible).

Behind the 'Villa Cervo' cluster, there is a stream perfect for cooling off in the summer.

The 'Villa Cervo' mountain hut is exclusively yours during your stay—no other guests will join you. However, locals may occasionally stay in the neighboring huts, so I cannot guarantee absolute solitude.

Please note: There is no toilet, no shower, and no electricity.

The return to civilization takes about 2 to 2.5 hours (on foot). A further 3.5 km, which can be driven on an unpaved road, leads to the nearest mountain village.

The cabin sleeps 6 people, with 2 bunk beds and 2 loungers (which can also be placed outside). It features a wood-burning stove for heating and cooking, an open fireplace for cooking, and a camping stove. In the center of the cabin, there is a table with 4 chairs.

Pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, glasses, bowls, and an Italian 'Moka' coffee maker are all provided.

Water: Cold water is available from a pipe sourced from a mountain stream, located about 20m from Villa Cervo in front of the first cabin of the cluster and at the neighboring hut (we kindly ask for respectful use). Hot water is only available by heating it on the stove or over the fire.

Shower: None (a camping shower is provided).
Toilet: None (in keeping with the authentic mountain experience, you dig a small hole at a sufficient distance from the cabin and cover it up afterwards—experienced hikers and mountaineers know the drill 😊. If you need more details on this, please just ask).

Firewood for the stove or fireplace must be chopped by guests. A saw, splitting axe, and a pack frame for carrying wood are provided.

What you need to bring: Sleeping bag, bed sheet, towel, tea towel, food supplies, and—to be on the safe side—one gas cartridge and your personal essentials.

In September 2025, a dedicated group of 4-6 people worked hard to restore the cabin to good condition. Everything you see was either carried up on someone's back or flown in by helicopter (€40 per minute plus flight time).

Villa Cervo is now only available to guests who are willing to actively support the preservation and upkeep of the cabin.

The nearest trattoria is about a 2 to 2.5-hour hike away... right by your parking spot. Another 3.5 km further, you'll find the mountain village with a pizzeria, bar, and restaurant (all in one). The small grocery store is located another 2 km from there.

Villa Cervo - der Welt entflohen ...

If you don't mind the short drive to the lake, you can of course enjoy everything in and around the water here – swimming, fishing, paddleboarding, surfing, sailing, motorboating, and more.

This simple yet lovingly furnished mountain hut will take your breath away with its incredibly beautiful and expansive views of the lake. This is the place to truly exhale and recharge! Villa Lupinia is wonderfully secluded, far from the crowds and hustle and bustle, yet still accessible—a 45-minute walk (2 km) from the village via a quiet gravel road and a footpath. It feels like paradise here in every season. Villa Lupinia stands alone; other huts are scattered nearby and are mostly used occasionally by their owners during the summer. In the village, you will find a pizzeria/restaurant/bar and a small weekly market.

A wood-burning stove is available for heating in winter, while the fireplace is perfect for the shoulder seasons.

Villa Lupinia is reached on foot via a quiet road, then a gravel track, and finally an unmarked footpath. There is an elevation gain of about 300 meters, and the walk takes between 45 and 60 minutes depending on your luggage and fitness level.

Guests booking 'Villa Lupinia' must be able to locate the hut using a hiking map and/or apps like Komoot. The photo-based directions I provide are for support only. Sure-footedness is required, and based on our experience, hiking boots are essential.

Upon confirmation of your booking, you will receive detailed directions to the hut. On request, we can also provide a hiking map (1:25,000 Ingenia Verlag, €7) and the route via Komoot.

The cabin has NO MAINS POWER CONNECTION!
A small mobile solar unit provides light, which you can place in the sun as needed. A rooftop solar panel allows you to charge devices such as mobile phones or laptops (12V socket).

A flat rate of €5 per night is charged for gas and/or firewood* and electricity (included in the price).

* You can / will need to gather firewood yourself from the surrounding forest. A saw and axe are provided in the cabin.

For your shopping needs, please plan for a short walk to the parking area plus about 2 km (either on foot or by car) to the neighboring village, where you'll find a small grocery store. Larger supermarkets are located down by the lake, approximately 8 km from the parking area.

Villa Lupinia is nestled alongside a few other cabins on a vast meadow, bordered by chestnut and birch forests. It offers a breathtaking, panoramic view over Lake Como and the surrounding mountains.

This is the perfect place to combine active relaxation with peaceful rest during the winter months.

The wood-burning stove keeps the cabin cozy and warm. While we can't predict the snow, the 'worst-case' scenario is simply enjoying the bright sunshine, just like we did this winter.

For hiking enthusiasts, there are countless beautiful destinations to explore: from natural pools in the valley and mountains, to wild rivers, and even mountain lakes where you can spend the night in a bivouac. You can also embark on a hut-to-hut tour, staying overnight in various charming mountain huts (including, for example, Villa Misterella, which I also offer as a camp here).

People often use the romantic phrase 'at one with nature'... but few realize that this doesn't just mean harmony; it is also closely linked to effort, discomfort, and testing one's own limits. Those who have the courage to face these challenges and embrace a 'journey to oneself in the wild' will surely return from this getaway feeling enriched and fulfilled.

Villa Machita is located in a small clearing (860 m above sea level) within a chestnut forest, slightly off the beaten path on the northern part of Lake Como. It can only be reached on foot via a hiking trail (approx. 30 minutes, 260 meters of elevation gain). A neighboring cabin is used occasionally for a few nights... but most of the time, you will likely be up there alone with the inhabitants of the forest.

Civilization is about a 20-minute walk away. A further 3.5 km, which can be driven by car over an unpaved road, leads to the nearest mountain village.

Anyone booking the 'Villa Machita' mountain hut must be able to find it using a hiking map and/or apps like Komoot. The directions and photos I provide are for support only. Sure-footedness is essential, and based on our experience, hiking boots are required.

Villa Machita was lovingly restored by us with a simple vision in mind:

For the floors and furniture, we used chestnut wood from the surrounding forest, along with reclaimed boards and split logs.

No electricity… instead, candlelight
No fitted kitchen… instead, cooking over an open fire
No toilet… instead, the forest (with a dry toilet coming soon)
No bathroom… instead, a stone trough with fresh mountain water right outside
No frills… instead, pure passion

The space features an open hearth, a handcrafted double bed with two very comfortable folding mattresses, a handmade table and benches, an Italian Moka pot, pots, pans, and dishes. We also provide basic essentials like salt, sugar, dish soap, vinegar, and oil for your convenience.

For cooling food, you can use the cellar beneath the house or the running water at the trough.

Villa Machita has no heating and is therefore best enjoyed during the warm summer months.

A cozy trattoria (which also has parking) is located downhill, about a 15 to 20-minute walk away. In the next village (approx. 3.5 km), reachable by car, you'll find a small grocery store for your essentials. Just another 8 km brings you down to Lake Como, offering numerous supermarkets, bakeries, cafes, and more...

As mentioned, Villa Machita is nestled in a small clearing amidst an ancient chestnut forest. In front of the cottage, water gently splashes in the fountain trough. The neighbor is rarely on site, so you'll likely spend most of your time alone with the enchanting inhabitants of the forest.

Unglaublich rustikale Berghütte - Villa Machita

- Accessible only on foot: 450 meters elevation gain (from 600 m to 1054 m) in approx. 2 hours.

Dreamlike! The hut is located above the confluence of the rivers from Valle di Ledú and Valle di Darengo. You can gaze at this view from your bedroom window, and be right in the middle of it within minutes. The mountain hut has been furnished to meet the owners' needs – so here you can experience authentic hut life. The hiking trail leads directly past the hut, making it an excellent starting point for hikes to other huts or various mountain lakes.

The path to the hut has steep and narrow sections, but no exposed areas. Hiking boots are required.

Our cozy living-sleeping-kitchen area features 2 single beds, a gas stove, and a gas lamp. You'll find all the essentials: dishes, pots, a pan, an Italian Moka pot for your coffee, a dining table, a fireplace, and a wood-burning stove. While two folding beds can be added, please note it will be a bit snug.

Water: Available right next to the house at the "well."
Cooling: Keep your perishables fresh under the house in the wood storage area or using water.
Toilet: There is no indoor toilet. Nature calls in the forest. (A composting toilet is currently being installed!)
Mobile Reception: It's a bit hit or miss – sometimes yes, sometimes no, and often quite weak. For better reception, walk about 200m from the cabin.

Just a friendly reminder: there is no toilet inside the cabin.

You're welcome to gather your own firewood! Deadwood can be collected from the forest. A saw and an axe are provided for your convenience. Please, no chainsaws allowed.

The nearest village is Livo, a charming mountain village boasting a pizzeria (with a bar and restaurant), a small general store, and a weekly market.

The river invites you for a refreshing swim, the mountains beckon for invigorating hikes, and the charming village offers the perfect setting for relaxation and unwinding.

Berghütte Misterella, strahlungsarm

The cabin is available for booking in winter – including for Christmas or New Year's Eve. The wood-burning stove ensures a wonderfully cozy atmosphere.

However, winter bookings are subject to certain conditions. Should access to the parking areas or the cabin itself be impossible due to snow and/or ice, the cabin will not be rented out, and I would have to cancel your booking. 

It's also possible that you might have to leave your car in the mountain village and won't be able to drive all the way to the parking lot. This would extend the walk by approximately 1 hour.

Personal arrangements are required in such cases.
